The Brazilian recording artist Silvana Magda with Katende Band and her Viva Brazil Dancers return to SOB’S for her last show of 2008. Do not miss her explosive Dinner Show. Date: Dec 6, 2008 Doors: 7:00pm 3 entirely different shows, all for one fee 8:30pm (Dinner Show) / (Music & Dance to Silvana Magda with Katende Band) 10:30pm & 12:30am (Music & Dance to Silvana Magda with Katende Band) An evening presentation of various music and dance segments of Brazil. Silvana will divulge the rich, diverse Brazilian culture to the foreign audience. She pays tribute to Carmen Miranda and some of the key elements of Brazilian music, like the Afro elements that helped form it over a century ago, adding more contemporary sounds such as Samba Reggae (a street dance) from the Northeast of Brazil, Salvador Bahia, Axe music which has dominated the air waves in the past few years, Xaxado (a dance style known as ‘country dance’) and the world famous Lambada. The show culminates with a full-blown Rio de Janeiro Carnival with an all out glitz and glamour of a Las Vegas style performance.
