JULY 6, S.O.B.'s & Remezcla.com present the "Pre-LAMC
Kickoff Concert" presenting LOS DYNAMITE and SWEET ELECTRA
in celebration of the much-anticipated LAMC.
LOS DYNAMITE has
been heralded as one of the most exciting bands to come out
of Mexico City this decade. With influences ranging from Daft
Punk to The Velvet Underground and lyrics sung mostly in English,
Los Dynamite's debut album, brashly titled "Greatest Hits",
was produced by guitarist and composer of the famous Mexican
band Fobia. Los Dynamite's first single "T.V." was
a smash success, receiving top 40 spins in Mexico and eventually
being chosen by the largest cellular telephone company in Mexico
(Telcel) as the main theme of their 2005 summer ad campaign.
They have shared stages with the likes of Incubus, Radio 4,
Interpol, The Kills, Juan Maclean, The Faint, and The Secret
Machines, and have also headlined the largest music festival
held in Mexico, Vive Latino, performing for crowds of up to
60,000 people.
Their songs "T.V." and "Katatonic" landed
Los Dynamite on Mexican alternative stations like Reactor 105.7
and Ibero 90.9, and Mexican Rolling Stone touted them as one
of the countries most promising bands. Recently, the New York
Times published an article about the independent Mexican music
scene which focuses on Los Dynamite as one of Mexico City´s
leading indie acts.
