On Thursday, April 1st, the spectacular monthly, Basement Bhangra is back at SOBs for another dose of DJ Rekha and her right hand man, Eddie Stats. Both will be spinning the best Bhangra mash-up imaginable from 7pm until the early morning hours.

The world-famous DJ Rekha, introduced NYC to Basement Bhangra in 1998, and the monthly event has been highlighting the rhythmic sounds of South Asia ever since. The party has become an essential part of the NYC club scene & SOBs is the place it calls home every 1st Thursday of the month.

Many have taken notice of the appeal of the show and critics have applauded its fusion of middle eastern rhythms, hip-hop, reggae and dancehall; all of which are centered around the authentic sound of the South Asian musical genre, Banghra. Rekha & the series has been featured in The New York Times, TimeOut NY, The NY Post, CNN, The Village Voice, NPR and numerous radio programs, to name a few.
